SFA's Long Term Care Fitness Leader, Certificate of Completion training program is a complete educational experience that will earn you a respected fitness credential. It includes all of the resources contained in our Part One and Part Two programs.
Your SFA Long Term Care Fitness Leader educational program can open up new professional opportunities for you as an exercise leader working with frail and disabled elderly clients in nursing homes, congregate living facilities and adult day care centers. Learn how to conduct the most productive and enjoyable functional and restorative fitness activities developed for very old, physically restricted populations.
You can share health and hope with frail elderly and disabled older adults in nursing homes, adult day-care centers, and assisted living environments. Learn how to work productively with regard to stroke, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and other serious medical concerns. Lead model chair-seated exercise classes, wheelchair sports, and mental fitness activities. Learn strategies for fighting depression, enhancing self-esteem, increasing functional independence, and improving quality of life.

- Accepted for 15 hours credit (1.5 CEUs) by most fitness organizations.
Successful completion of the Long Term Care Fitness Leader, Certificate of Completion program requires achieving an 80 percent score on both of the open book, multiple choice tests included with your study materials.
You will earn two validation certificates that are accepted for a total of 24 hours (2.4 CEUs) by most fitness organizations. You will also earn a Certificate of Completion document from the American Senior Fitness Association. Although a Certificate of Completion is not equal to professional certification, it is a respected credential that will serve as an entry level qualification and as an excellent compliment to an existing set of fitness credentials.
If desired, you can upgrade your Certificate of Completion credential to Full (Professional) Certification at a later date. Additional co-requisites, testing requirements and fees will apply.
